An SUV rolled over and three other cars wrecked in a chain collision on I-77 southbound south of Exit 28 during rush hour Monday morning. Two people were slightly hurt in the crash, which happened around 8:25am.
The wreck brought traffic to a halt southbound, while northbound traffic also snarled because of onlooker delays.
At the scene, a maroon Chevy Tahoe SUV was on its roof, doors open. All drivers and passengers were out the vehicles fairly quickly, and two were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Conrelius-Lemley Fire Deparment.
Three other cars in the left lane appeared to have collided as they stopped short to avoid the SUV. The road was slick because of rain that started after 8am.
Firefighters, police and Medic responded to the crash, which was on the inside lane of I-77 about 1/4 mile south of the highway on ramp.
No further information was immediately available.

Firefighters cleared the scene within about 30 minutes after two patients were taken to the hospital. (David Boraks/CorneliusNews.net)
