I-77 southbound was closed for about 90 minutes at Exit 28 Tuesday night after a motorcycle wrecked after a chase by the State Highway Patrol.
Emergency radio reports said the wreck involved a motorcycle that crashed following a police chase. Firefighters and state police were on the scene.
The motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. No further information was immediately available.
The DOT reported that an accident closed the road around 9:30pm. Firefighters said around 9:50pm that the road was likely to be closed for an extended time while the State Highway Patrol investigated.
The NC DOT reported the road reopened just after 11pm.
